The table plan is an important part of any wedding reception. The newlywed couple tend to be the centre of attention and wherever they sit is usually a focal point when it comes to wedding speeches and toasts. Over in the United States the trend of a sweetheart table has become popular in recent years, but a poll conducted on hitched.co.uk revealed that British couples continue to choose a traditional, rectangular head table to sit at during their wedding reception. 60.9% of couples chose to sit at a traditional wedding reception table and 20.7% opted for round tables to match the rest of their guests. 4.6% of couples chose to have their guests sit on one big table, and the same amount of couples went down the American trend of sitting at a sweetheart table for two.
We surveyed 174 wedding planning couples.
hitched.co.uk provides a free table planning tool, helping couples plan and organise their wedding reception room with ease. After adding the names of guests attending the wedding to the My Table Planner tool, the couple will then be able to drag each guest around a pre-designed table lay out, mirroring what it would be like at the venue. Once the table plan has been completed online, the couple can then print it out and give it to their venue in advance of the wedding.
